|NASHVILLE – Tennesseans for Student Success, after an intense issue campaign behalf of Tennessee’s students, issued the following statement today regarding last week’s Election day victories:
“Our work supporting public education is total and comprehensive,” said Tennesseans for Student Success President and CEO Adam Lister. “Whether we’re in the General Assembly advocating for policies that will drive student success, in communities hearing from all those involved in the work of our classrooms, or engaging with voters on the issues that support student achievement, all that we do is tied to maximizing the opportunity for success for every student in Tennessee.”
Lister continued: “We have made it a priority over the last 15 months to be on the ground talking with and hearing from Tennessee’s voters. In every community, we’ve heard that quality public education, high academic standards, an aligned assessment, and more choices in public education are top issues for Tennessee’s voters, regardless of party affiliation, when they head to the polls. We congratulate all those who will be on the November ballot and look forward to continuing conversations with them on Tennesseans’ top priority – education.”
Tennesseans for Student Success especially congratulates Johnny Garrett, Mark Cochran, Representative Jerome Moon, Charlie Baum, Representative Clark Boyd, Representative Dawn White, Rick Eldridge, Dave Wright, Rush Bricken, Mark Hall, London Lamar, Representative Mark White, Representative Raumesh Akbari, and Representative John DeBerry on their victories and thanks them for their ongoing support of public education.
