Weekly Update – April 30, 2018

We love this time of year when the summer is on the horizon, plans for fun are being made, and excitement hangs on the calendar. We’re especially fond of this particular time of year as tomorrow we’ll launch our 3rd annual summer reading initiative – Tristar Reads.

Tristar Reads is more than a reading program – it’s a scholarship opportunity. After all the reading hours have been logged, we’ll award three Tennessee students with $1,000 college scholarships. It’s a great way to get your students, baseball team, Vacation Bible School, and friends involved in the joy and adventure of reading.

As well, throughout the summer, we’ll post and host various Tennesseans for our weekly reading session on Facebook. Here are some of our favorite videos from last year.

We know the summer gets busy, but we also know the importance of reading comprehension, literacy, and vocabulary that comes from reading at least 20 minutes a day – even during the summer. We hope you’ll encourage all the Kindergarten – 12th graders you know to sign up at TristarReads.com and help them find their adventure in a book this summer.

For more information and rules of entry, please visit TristarReads.com.
