This week, we are highlighting superheroes who put others first and show true humility. Read below for this week’s Superhero Challenge and learn about ways you can use your superhero powers this summer with Tristar Reads!
Humility doesn’t mean thinking less of yourself, it means thinking of yourself less. Superheroes help those in need and take the lead with others in mind. They are an example of putting others first. As they lead, their followers mimic their humble behavior and service-minded attitude.
Now, this doesn’t mean that they don’t make mistakes, but they are quick to forgive and admit their faults. You can learn so much by reading: growing in your learning skills and seeing examples of how leaders overcome obstacles.
As school is in full swing, it’s important to keep growing and learning new things through reading how superheroes treat others. We can learn a thing or two by watching how they conquer tough challenges that arise.
Now is the time to sign up for Tristar Reads with only THREE WEEKS left! As you read your way into the school year, continue to log your hours on tristarreads.com for a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship and many other exciting prizes! And don’t forget to log those hours you read during school!
Let’s watch Elle Benson, Director of Capacity Building for the Alliance for Better Nonprofits (ABN), East Tennessee’s nonprofit resource center, read “Put me in the Zoo,” by Robert Lopshire.
