Metro Councilman Freddie O’Connell Enjoys Strong Position for the Runoff in Tennesseans for Student Success Poll of the Mayor’s Race

NASHVILLE —  Metro Councilman Freddie O’Connell sits at the top of the latest Tennesseans for Student Success (TSS) poll of the Nashville mayoral race.

The TSS poll is likely the last to be made publicly available before tomorrow’s election and it provides an important reference to compare changes in the race to the poll TSS conducted in May of likely voters.

Among the latest poll’s findings:

  • Freddie O’Connell leads all candidates with 25.4%.
  • Alice Rolli (18.8%), Matt Wiltshire (14.6%), and Senator Jeff Yarbro (13.1%) are in contention for the second runoff spot.
  • Senator Jeff Yarbro leads as a “second preference” if the first candidate choice was unavailable with 21.5%.
  • Likely voters list Matt Wiltshire (38.3%) as the candidate they’ve seen or heard from the most.

VictoryPhones polled 500 likely Davidson County voters between July 25 and July 27 on behalf of TSS. The polling has a margin of error of 4.38 percent.

Tennesseans for Student Success chose to conduct this poll independently and is not connected to any campaign in the race.
