Tennesseans for Student Success Launches New School Letter Grade Tool and Branding
NASHVILLE -- Tennesseans for Student Success (TSS) today announced a refreshed brand and a redesigned website with new resources for the public. This transition celebrates our first decade of public education advocacy, and it reflects our road ahead – building a sustainable impact on student learning and success.
The new TSS logo includes a geometric shape of Tennessee, outlined on the left with books scaling up to illustrate our commitment to driving success for students across the state, step by step. TSS’ redesigned website revamps its advocacy and policy tools, containing a new resource for families and voters: a School Letter Grade Map with aggregated school district scores. This new tool will provide parents with the ability to compare how school districts performed during the prior school year in the same way the state’s School Letter Grades does for individual schools, while making navigation and comparison on the school and district level simpler.
“As we enter our second decade, we felt it was important for our logo and visual identity to reflect the bold work we’re doing to ensure today’s students are more prepared and have more opportunities for success than those who graduated before them," said TSS President and CEO Lana Skelo. “Our redesigned website is a big part of that, and the new resources it’s providing will build upon our existing initiatives to help parents and voters make important decisions for their community and their family.”
Tennesseans for Student Success was formed in late 2014 to defend key education policies that were implemented by Governors Phil Bredesen and Bill Haslam. In the years since, TSS has helped pass critical education policies, including the Literacy Success Act, the Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement Act, and legislation to help support and expand public charter schools.
The organization additionally provides independent reviews of charter applications through its Quality Charter Review (QCR), an annual grade for every member of the Tennessee General Assembly through the TN SuccessCard, advocacy tools, education policy information, and more.
Later this year, TSS will release a 2026 Gubernatorial Tracker, an updated catalog of key policies, statements, and events for candidates in the 2026 Tennessee gubernatorial race.
