Voters Invited to See Which Lawmakers Made the Grade on TN SuccessCard

NASHVILLE – Tennesseans for Student Success (TSS) today announced the release of its tenth annual TN SuccessCard, a helpful online tool for voters in the upcoming August primary. The TN SuccessCard scores members of the General Assembly based on their votes on key education policies during the 2026 legislative session.

TSS analyzed dozens of committee and floor votes to create this year's TN SuccessCard. The tool provides parents, educators, and others with a vested interest in student success with detailed information on how each legislator voted, along with bill text and summaries of the bills we tracked.

“The TN SuccessCard gives families a clear look at how lawmakers voted on the issues that matter in the classroom and lead to positive student outcomes,” said TSS President and CEO Lana Skelo. "Legislators scoring high this year supported key reforms to provide fair access to public school choice, a commitment to ensuring high-performing students are challenged, and a willingness to adequately fund public education in a tight budget year. We encourage parents to utilize the TN SuccessCard when making decisions in the voting booth this summer, and we hope it provides returning lawmakers with a guide for building on the historic progress students are making next year.”

A total of 87 legislators scored 90 or above on the TN SuccessCard. We gave failing grades to 25 lawmakers, just under last year's total.
