Tennesseans for Student Success Calls on the Tennessee Department of Education to Take Emergency Action

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennesseans for Student Success today released the following statement in response to questions surrounding available options to school districts amid their efforts to maintain in-person instruction:

“The data overwhelmingly shows in-person learning that ensures student and teacher safety, while limiting family disruptions, is best for students,” said Adam Lister, president and CEO of Tennesseans for Student Success. “We encourage the Tennessee Department of Education with urgency to convene local school leaders to advise them on the specific options available to ensure continuous safe in-person instruction. Providing this clarity will allow Tennessee public schools to fully focus on limiting further learning loss and preventing a two-year crisis from becoming a lifelong one.”
