Thank You to Our Real Life Superheroes: Teachers!

Real Life Superheroes: TEACHERS!

This week we are celebrating one of our favorite superheroes…TEACHERS!

We all know how important it is to encourage children to read during the summer. Read more below and learn from our every day superheroes– teachers– and how to be a Superhero this summer too!

Crush the Summer Slide!

Studies show that summer reading is critical to help students stay sharp for the upcoming school year.

Students who do not read during the summer can quickly fall behind, losing between one and three months of learning. Worse, the “Summer Slide” is cumulative, meaning learning losses build up each year.

It’s time to stop the summer slide. Be a reading superhero and read every day BUT don’t forget to log your time.

If you’re the parent of or are a Tennessee student in grades 5-12 and haven’t registered yet to be a Superhero with Tristar Reads, be sure to register online for the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship!

Our featured superhero of the week is Meredith Daniel.

She is the Theatre Director at the Centennial Performing Arts Studio in Nashville. Before stepping into her new role, she was the Theatre Teacher at Brentwood Middle School.

Check her Superhero skills and a special reading of the book, Escargot.
