| Graduation Season, Tristar Reads, & More! The weather is warming up, teachers are preparing final lesson plans and seniors are ready to don their caps and gowns. That means it’s graduation season! | Preparing Students for Graduation and Beyond Congratulations to all of Tennessee’s high school seniors preparing for graduation and beyond! At Tennesseans for Student Success, we believe it is essential for all Tennesseans to prepared for, have access to, and complete a post-secondary credential or degree. Today, more than ever, Tennessee’s students have an opportunity to seamlessly transition from high school to college and career and have economic freedom. We will continue to advocate for policies that strengthen pathways to a post-secondary degree or credential, increase retention and completion, and prepare students for success in the 21st century economy. Teachers are Real Life Superheroes! Help us celebrate our real life superheroes– TEACHERS! Throughout the summer months, it is so important to not let the summer slide set in and encourage children to read! Our featured superhero, Meredith Daniel, is the Theatre Director at Centennial Performing Arts Studio in Nashville. Click to see her superhero skills and a special reading of Escargot! It’s not too late to sign up! All Tennessee students ages 5-18 are eligible to participate. All you have to do is read a book at least 20 minutes a day and log your hours and you’ll be entered for a chance to receive a $1000 college scholarship!Don’t forget to sign up for our weekly Tristar Reads emails with important reminders and other chances to win prizes!
