TAKE ACTION: Support the Tennessee Literacy Success Act

Tennessee Is In a Crisis: Only 1 in 3 Tennessee Students Can Read At Their Grade-Level.

Governor Bill Lee has called the Tennessee General Assembly to convene for a special legislative session on January 19th to address the literacy crisis and other education issues. Call and ask your legislators to support our students and teachers using our one-click tool below.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, only one-third of 3rd graders in Tennessee were reading on grade level. Now, school closures, increases in truancy, and accumulating social anxiety in our next generation of leaders has resulted in a further 50% decrease in proficiency rates. Literacy is foundational for the futures of our students and our state. Governor Bill Lee’s Tennessee Literacy Success Act will give our students the reading skills they need for success, teachers the resources they need to help our students, and our state results that last a lifetime.

URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Call and ask your legislators to support the Tennessee Literacy Success and fix #TNLitNow.
