This week we joined Rep. Helton as she reads “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae aloud to us. Thank you, Representative Helton, for reading with us!
If you haven’t, register to get involved with Tristar Reads at www.tristarreads.com and log your reading hours each week for a chance to win one of three $1,000 scholarships.
Watch Representative Esther Helton read here.
It’s never too late to sign up for Tristar Reads. You can sign up at any time and still get involved in what we’re doing all summer long.
Are you a parent, educator, or community leader passionate about literacy and college and career readiness? Are you a high school student looking for an opportunity to serve others with a virtual community project?
Then this opportunity is just for you.
Register to be a Team Leader with Tristar Reads this summer! For the first time, Tennesseans for Student Success is expanding our summer reading scholarship program to include an opportunity for parents, teachers, librarians, high school students, and community leaders to outreach in their community, and it can be done 100% online. Team Leaders will be asked to recruit students to their team, and if they succeed at recruiting new students to read with us this summer, TSS will donate up to $1500 to a literacy nonprofit, library, or school library in their community!
Congratulations Class of 2020! We are so proud of you and the hard work you put in to make it this far!
Now that summer is officially beginning, we know you have some built up energy that needs to get released. That’s why this week we are celebrating dance and exercise. If you find yourself at home this summer, turn on a Disney Zumba video and work up a magical sweat. GoNoodle offers hundreds of videos to get children up and moving while also learning!
If your student loves to dance and needs encouragement to read, click here for a list of books all about young dancers.
