Music is Magic

Music is a great conduit in bringing people together because it bridges a gap for people with different backgrounds, economic classes, ethnicities, genders, races, etc. It helps us as humans find common ground and a shared connection. Music is also fun and always seems to bring a smile to people of every age and stage of life. Just as Sen. Haile mentioned after reading “Donkey-Donkey,” we are all different but that doesn’t diminish the fact that we have value and can celebrate our uniqueness.

Summer should be full of fun and exploring different ways to engage in our diversity. Music Play Online is a fun tool to learn music theory, how to play an instrument, or take up a new skill. Take advantage of all the musical fun that the site offers this summer.

Additionally, Metro Nashville Public Schools released a blog called, “What Music Makers Miss Most” about connecting with students and maintaining a sense of musical community. Check it out here

TSR Challenge of the Week

Does your student play an instrument, sing, or involved in music in any way? Send us a video or photo of your student engaging in some sort of music fun and we will feature it in our newsletter and social feeds, as well as sending you a fun book of your choice about music.
