Weekly Update – July 2, 2018

We’re sure you are registered to vote but are your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors?

As the 111th General Assembly begins to take shape and the list of men and women running for Tennessee’s next Governor is shortened, it’s critical that voters for student success raise their voices and hands during this election season.

There’s more at stake than wins and losses on election day. Tennessee’s leaders will have an opportunity to continue and strengthen the work done over the last few years to support high academic standards, an assessment aligned to those standards, accountability for everyone involved in the classroom, and more choices in public education.

When we released our 2018 Legislative SuccessCard, we had in mind that it would be an easy and honest tool to use to take a look at whether your elected official supported Tennessee’s students. We hope you take a look around the 2018 and 2017 versions as you prepare for the next election.

Of course, to participate in the process, you must be registered. Tomorrow’s the last day you can register. Click here for the link to online registration or an address to your local polling place. If you have a few moments, drop a note to your friends and family (or share our Facebook post or Tweet with your feeds) encouraging them to register to vote.

Let’s keep raising our voices and votes for Tennessee’s kids!
