Inside TNSuccess

Weekly Update – June 19, 2018

When we announced our inaugural TNSuccessCard Scorecard last year, our hope was it would become an easy-to-use, open, and honest tool. We wanted you to be able to quickly, and with confidence in the information, take a look at how your elected officials voted to support and accelerate Tennessee’s continued academic gains.

After the 110th General Assembly adjourned this year, we got to work on our second installment of the TNSuccessCard Scorecard. Released today, we wanted you to be one of the first to see the votes, bills, amendments, and scores for your elected officials during the 2018 legislative year.

Here’s the video from today’s release.

As we look ahead, the 111th General Assembly will have big shoes to fill as they continue the work for student success. They will have to keep up the pressure to maintain Tennessee’s high academic standards, support an assessment aligned to those standards, encourage more choices in public education, and work to make sure everyone involved in the classroom is accountable for success. We know the TNSuccessCard Scorecard will be useful for you as you head to the polls to choose our state’s next leaders.

Take a look around the 2018 TNSuccessCard Scorecard and know we are grateful to be in this work with you. Tennessee deserves elected officials who will continue the growth in education so every student in Tennessee will have an opportunity to succeed.
