Weekly Update – November 26, 2018

Are books on your Christmas list?

(if you need a good list, we’ve searched the internet and brought you several great lists of books for the holidays)

Strong literacy skills are one of the best gifts we can give our students. When our kids are strong readers, they are strong learners and strong contenders for academic and economic success. Kids who read today become learners for life.

That’s one of the reasons we launched Tristar Reads three years ago. As we move into the Holiday season, we’ll be traveling the state to award $1,000 college scholarships to this year’s three Tristar Reads winners. Be on the lookout for announcements regarding our last two winners.

We recently visited with Rowen Wilkinson and were thrilled to celebrate his success in reading this summer – and look forward to continuing to celebrate his success in life. Take a look at this Tennessean story highlighting Rowen’s outstanding dedication to literacy and help us celebrate the gifts reading brings.
