Weekly Update – February 6, 2017

We know life is busy and the calendar gets full, so we wanted to get a few dates to you. Each week that you check in with us, each time you jump on a call with one of our field staffers, each time you share a Facebook post, you help spread the message of student success. We couldn’t be a part of this work without you.

As the 110th General Assembly is almost in full swing, we wanted to make sure you knew when the various education committees meet during the week. Each committee hearing is broadcasted online, so be sure you’re following us on Twitter for up-to-date links to watch. You are always welcome to join us in Nashville to watch one of these hearings in person. In fact, that would make our week! Drop us a note at info@tnsuccess.org if you are interested.

Here’s the typical week for our education committee hearings (all times are Central):

House Education Administration and Planning Full Committee, 9:00am Tuesday
House Education Administration and Planning Subcommittee, 3:00pm Tuesday
House Instruction and Programs Full Committee, 12:00pm Tuesday
House Instruction and Programs Subcommittee, 1:30pm Wednesday
Senate Education Committee, 1:00pm Wednesday

Finally, one last date to get on your calendar. It’s a Valentine’s Extravaganza!

We’ll be hanging out on your Facebook page February 14th for our first Facebook Live. We’ll be sharing information on our legislative agenda for the year, talking through legislation, and sharing our priorities for the year. Make sure you are following us on Facebook for more information!

Thanks for all you do for student success.
