We’ve got a special REAL LIFE superhero this week with some awesome reading skills about an essential part of reading to share! Also, keep reading to learn how to show off your superhero skills and get to reading this summer! |
Explore Different Types of Reading Even in an age when interactive maps and atlases are widely available, understanding how to read them is still a critical part of literacy. What would happen if a Superhero lost his/her power for just one minute? Would they be able to find the person in trouble? Maps are important to locate important places and also study and compare different locations. They even can help predict the weather! Maps represent the real world on a much smaller scale. With all the many different types of maps available, they have multiple functions. They help you travel from one location to another, organize information, and figure out where you are and how to get where you want to go. Put your reading skills to the test with Tristar Reads this summer! If you’re the parent of or are a Tennessee student grades K-12, sign up online and you’ll also have the chance to win a $1,000 scholarship! |
